ACADEMIC WRITING AS A CURRENT DIRECTION OF TRAINING AT THE POSTGRADUATE COURSES OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF RUSSIA

Abstract (English):
The ability to be the author of an academic text is considered today as a basic component of research competence. The applicant for a scientific degree needs to know the norms of the scientific style, to master the methods of implementing the framework of reasoning, argumentation. It is also important for him to understand what scientific communication and scientific discourse are. Basic knowledge about the text is mastered by Russians in the school course of the Russian language, the experience of the author's work is formed in the student years. Many graduate students become applicants as quite mature people; when working on a dissertation, they need systemic updating or the formation of the foundations of academic literacy. Therefore, the development of academic literacy seems to be an important area of work for the postgraduate work of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The article describes the problems in the field of academic writing that need to be resolved in the educational process. It is proposed to support graduate students, teachers of all implemented disciplines on a systematic basis. The content and methodological accents of the stages of this support are described.
