The article discusses the third level of higher education, namely the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel in postgraduate studies, including representatives of the penal system. The article provides an analysis of the existing system of higher education and offers suggestions for its improvement, with the main goal of finding new knowledge, discovering new problems, facts, and truths. The research methods include the analysis of scientific literature, observation, discussion, questionnaires, interviews, comparison, generalization, and the system-structural method for analyzing the obtained materials. The scientific novelty lies in considering the subject of research from a different angle and proposing new strategies for developing educational practices in postgraduate studies (adjunct studies) in departmental organizations. The authors conclude that the dynamics of modern science pose new requirements for the professional training of young people who choose scientific activities as their field of study, as well as the need to revise the following: traditional approaches to teaching in the system of professional education in (adjunct).
