PATRIOTISM AND NATIONALISM: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF CONCEPTS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The paper attempts a comparative analysis of the concepts of “nationalism” and “patriotism”. Pointing out the special relevance of awareness of the patriotic identity of a modern Russian citizen, the author at the same time refers to the concept of “nationalism” in order to exclude patriotic meaning from its content. The author comes to the conclusion that the concepts of patriotism and nationalism cannot be identified, since they carry different semantic meanings.

Keywords:
patriotism, nationalism, traditional values, self-identification, the future of Russia, state sovereignty
