ACTIVITIES OF CENTERS PROVIDING SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES, AS ASSESSED BY PARENTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The relevance of the topic is justified by the growing number of children with disabilities both in Russia as a whole and in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Specialized centers, including resource centers, are studied as social institutions designed to provide social and psychological assistance to families raising children with special needs. As part of a sociological study conducted in 2024 in the Republic of Bashkortostan using a standardized questionnaire, an assessment was made of the activities of centers providing psychological, pedagogical, medical and social assistance from the point of view of parents of children with disabilities. The results showed that most respondents do not visit such centers. Among those who use their services, they do so for two reasons: in order to receive the necessary consultations from specialists on education and psychological assistance, as well as in order to participate in events and receive relevant information. A high need was identified for corrective and developmental classes with children, as well as for psychological and pedagogical support for the family as a whole.
