Social networks play an important role in the lives of modern society, which allows the attackers to use them for committing crimes. Most users of social networks, who come into contact with other participants in this segment, build communication on mutual trust, creating favorable conditions for the implementation of criminal designs. This article discusses the most common schemes in which social networks act as a means and a way of committing crimes against property. In the course of the study, crime analysis was carried out in social networks in examples of judicial practice, where the characteristics of this type of crime are reflected, such as public danger, anonymity, cross-border.
