The article discusses the issues of assessment and examination of educational work programs in higher education institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and updates the problem of the quality of educational documents for training future specialists of the system in the context of modern regulatory and methodological requirements and recommendations for the organization of education of students. The parameters for the development of technical and substantive examination of educational work programs in areas of training are given, and attention is drawn to the importance of assessing educational activities in departmental organizations of higher education.
