In the light of the introduction of federal educational standards of the new generation into the educational activities of educational institutions of higher education, the issue of the content of health-saving technologies in the educational programs of universities is relevant. At the same time, the teaching staff of departmental universities understands this goal only in one aspect – improving the physical training of students. And the main component of health saving is completely lost from sight - the conscious formation of a healthy lifestyle for the future employee. The purpose of our study is to develop a scientific rationale for the formation of health-saving competence in educational organizations of the penitentiary system of the Russian Federation. Keywords: educational activities, health-saving competencies, competency matrix, healthy lifestyle.
