The article examines the main characteristics of mentoring as a social and pedagogical phenomenon, defines the concept, reveals the purpose, main elements and conditions for the effective implementation of the mentoring program in education. The author describes the tasks of mentoring in the context of developing spiritual values of cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, suggests stages of work to form their spiritual and moral values, considers the main forms and types of interaction within the framework of mentoring, as well as such innovative types of interaction as mentoring, coaching and tutoring. The article is of interest to researchers in the field of mentoring pedagogy, practicing teachers, curators of groups of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
