Abstract (English):
The article examines the forensic characteristics of thefts of items of special cultural, scientific and historical value. It substantiates the importance of this forensic category as the basis for the methodology of investigating any type of crime. The elements of the forensic characteristics of the analyzed criminally punishable acts, traditionally highlighted in the scientific literature are listed: the subject of criminal encroachment, the general conditions for committing the crime, the method of committing the crime, the identity of the criminal. The specifics of each of the elements are revealed. The author considers the concept of value within the framework of the analysis of the subject of criminal encroachment. Special attention is paid to the identity of the perpetrator, the methods of committing crimes, as well as the causes and conditions that contributed to their commission. Conclusions are formulated on the need to improve knowledge about the elements of the forensic characteristics of theft of items of special value, the possibilities and prospects for further research of this scientific category.
