Based on the study and analysis of operational investigative legislation, scientific publications, law enforcement practice and the criminogenic situation along the line of information warfare carried out by law enforcement agencies, including operational police units, the article examines the existing scientific positions of specialists in the field of theory of operational investigative activities on the concept, essence and content of this type of activity that is entirely aimed at providing open or hidden information impact. Many researchers, characterizing the information warfare in the context of fundamental changes caused primarily by digital transformation, come to the conclusion (we share their opinion) that there is also an informational and psychological confrontation as an integral part of it. At the same time, the author focused his attention on the search for new knowledge on the problem of their interdependence and interconditionality.
