The article is devoted to a historical analysis of the formation and evolution of international labor law, starting with the first attempts to unify labor standards at the end of the 19th century and ending with modern development trends. The issues of the formation of this industry are investigated, the role of the International Labor Organization in the codification and regulation of labor rights is studied. The article also touches upon issues of social and economic justice. The prospects for the development of international labor law in the context of globalization, technological changes and new challenges related to the need to protect workers’ rights in the era of the digital economy and non-standard forms of employment are considered. It is concluded that international labor law, as a dynamically developing branch of international law, is a complex and multifaceted system of norms governing labor relations on a global scale.
