The article discusses the features of the educational process of police officers in the framework of physical training, concerning the improvement of technical and tactical actions and combat methods of struggle in typical situations of operational and service activities associated with the detention of an offender in the aquatic environment. The author substantiates the undoubted relevance of the possession by police officers of the formed skills and abilities of technical and tactical actions and combat methods of struggle, necessary for the arrest of an offender in various conditions of the aquatic environment. The specificity of physical training of employees of internal affairs bodies in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is considered. It is argued that the technical and tactical actions of police officers when they arrest an offender in a water environment are not fully considered and disclosed from the point of view of the scientific and methodological component of the educational process in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The main results of research work are presented, the relevance and demand of the methodology for improving combat techniques of fighting in water in the discipline «Service-applied physical training» is justified.
