From the point of view of modern criminal procedure law, the article provides a comprehensive analysis of the role of criminal proceedings as a means of preventing crimes in the field of migration. The conclusions presented in the article are based on a deep analysis of the current criminal procedural legislation, a comprehensive study of the opinions of leading Russian scientists-proceduralists, found in modern legal literature devoted to the problems of criminal proceedings and practitioners of investigative bodies.
