Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to the formation of the Institute of civil rights protection in Russian law. The author carries out analysis of the initial stage of the historical development of the institution. The significancy of the earliest written artifacts of the ancient Slavs for its formation is shown. The author draws attention to the fact that ancient Russian legislation not only had a sufficient developed system of civil law rules concerning property and legal relations, but also provides for the possibility to protect their subjects from infringement. The issues of civil law protection in Old Russian law merge with responsibility for crimes. The author notes that the emergence of certain elements of the institution of protection of private rights in Ancient Russia began in the 10th century. In Russkaya Pravda, as well as in the Code of Laws of Ivan III Vasilyevich and Ivan IV Grozny, their further development took place, the regulation of protection is carried out under the influence of government policy, an important place is given to the judiciary, the role of state bodies in resolving disputes is increasing.
