The article discusses the features of the traceological traces formed during the collision of vehicles. The importance of detecting, recording and analyzing trace information at the scene of an accident is revealed in order to put forward versions of the event that occurred and to conduct investigative actions at the scene of a traffic crime. Aspects of conducting an investigative examination, evaluating its results and analyzing the obtained forensically significant trace information are outlined.
