The article deals with certain aspects of the formation of the criminal law policy of the Soviet state in the period of codifcation of the 1920s. The presented work gives a general description of the institutional foundations of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR of 1922. Attention is drawn to the conceptual signifcance of the provisions that were enshrined in the Criminal Code of the RSFSR of 1922 for the development of Soviet law, refecting the ideas of criminality and punishability of acts prevailing in Soviet jurisprudence during this period. purpose and nature of criminal repression.
