CLASSIFICATIONS OF THE EXTENSION OF THE PROCEDURAL TERM IN PRE-TRIAL CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
Considering that in some cases the criminal procedure term may be extended, the author defines the classifications of extending the period established by law in pre-trial criminal proceedings. Various grounds have been identified that made it possible to combine cases of extension of deadlines into separate groups, including those proposed by some scientists when considering issues related to deadlines. The article mentions seven classification features, on the basis of which appropriate classifications have been developed, which make it possible to clearly see not only the multiplicity of precedents for extending deadlines in pre-trial criminal proceedings, but also different approaches of the legislator to the regulation of such procedural activities. Undoubtedly, the extension of procedural deadlines in pre-trial criminal proceedings is a very important legal institution that ensures, on the one hand, the achievement of the goals of criminal proceedings, and, on the other, the observance of the rights and legitimate interests of all its participants.
