The proposed article summarizes the provisions expressed by some authors about the concept of “investigative actions” as a way of collecting evidence. Based on the posi-tions expressed in the legal literature regarding the concept of “investigative actions”, the author emphasizes that in modern criminal proceedings, the methods of collecting evi-dence are regulated, at first glance, by a fairly well-formed, logically complete institution of criminal procedure law with a differentiated form, which allows officials and bodies carrying out criminal proceedings to independently choose the method of collecting evidence.
