The article is devoted to the study of the legal nature and place of the institution of coercion in the system of public administration. The analysis of the reasons hindering the construction of effective regulatory structures is carried out, theoretical and practical problems existing in the law enforcement activities of internal affairs bodies in the implementation of certain measures of state coercion are studied.
