Abstract (English):
Based on the legislative acts, decrees and certificates of various government agencies, as well as the memoirs of contemporaries, the article deals with the life of children evacuated from besieged Leningrad. The author notes that in historical and legal science, the topic of evacuation of the children of besieged Leningrad and their daily life in the rear is considered in the context of studying general issues of evacuation of the population, or in the context of the activities of orphanages during the Great Patriotic War. The article uses the memories of former pupils of preschool boarding schools and orphanages, including the reminiscences of M.A. Gladkovskaya, the daughter of Leningrad composer, and professor V. O. Skitnevsky. Little-known facts are given about the fate of the children of Leningrad political prisoners evacuated to the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. The author comes to the conclusion that in wartime conditions, children’s institutions had a special legal status due to the state’s concern for the younger generation.
