This article is devoted to the problem of studying the professional language of employees of internal affairs bodies. It makes a clear distinction between the concepts of “legal term”, “professionalism”, and “professional jargon”. An analysis of the collected linguistic material allows us to identify several classifications of professional words as well as the peculiarities of their usage.
