The author analyzes the specifics of ensuring information security and prevention of sexual crimes committed using the Internet. The paper shows that currently illegal acts (including those on sexual grounds) are committed using modern means of communication and the Internet, which is a pressing problem that many countries have faced in the 21st century and is of concern due to the constant growth of its scale and the level of damage caused. Prevention of sexual abuse of children in the digital environment requires the creation of modern protective mechanisms on the path of offenders to their potential victims, as well as the implementation of active preventive and educational work among children – potential victims.
