POSSIBILITIES OF FORENSIC PROFILING AT TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES IN IDENTIFYING AND SOLVING CRIMES IN THE SPHERE OF ILLEGAL TRAFFICKING OF NARCOTIC DRUGS, PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES OR THEIR ANALOGUES
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to the potential of forensic profiling at transport infrastructure facilities in detecting and solving crimes in the field of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues. Forensic profiling at transport infrastructure facilities is an effective method that makes it possible to identify individual crimes in the field of drug trafficking at the planning stage. Forensic profiling is a technique that identifies pre-criminal, criminal and post–criminal behavior based on an analysis of the appearance of the profiled person(s), psychological, physiological and physiognomic manifestations, including reactions to various circumstances and stimuli. The value of forensic profiling lies in the possibilities of obtaining operationally relevant information at the stage of preventive work, as part of special operations, during the implementation of operational search activities in the “hot pursuit”, as well as in the subsequent conduct of individual investigative actions. The productivity of forensic profiling makes it possible to implement this technique not only for the purpose of detecting and uncovering crimes in the field of drug trafficking and psychotropic substances or their analogues at transport infrastructure facilities, but also to counter other types of crimes and maintain public order and public safety in general. Analysis of statistical data shows that it is at transport infrastructure facilities that the main traffic of illegal drug trafficking and psychotropic substances or their analogues occurs, and therefore the active introduction of forensic profiling techniques into the activities of police officers can become an effective tool in countering this type of criminal activity.
