This article discusses the norms of the Civil Code of the RSFSR of 1922, which regulate the legal status and activities of foreign legal entities in the RSFSR. Based on the study the author comes to the conclusion that the Civil Code of the RSFSR of 1922 contained only outline formulations on the legal status and activities of foreign trading legal entities. The introductory legislation prescribed a permit procedure for the economic activities of foreign trading legal entities, which was not a restriction of rights due to the state affiliation (nationality) only, but primarily followed from the form of ownership. The absence of a permit to carry out economic activities in the RSFSR entailed the illegality and invalidity of all transactions, while a trading legal entity retained procedural legal capacity to a limited extent on the basis of reciprocity.
